Lawyer Vetting
How lawyers pre-configure deals for their clients with recommended positions and advisory notes.
What Is Vetting?
Vetting allows a lawyer to set up a deal before their client begins negotiating. The lawyer selects recommended clause positions, adds advisory notes, and invites the client to a pre-configured deal.
Expert Guidance
Lawyers recommend specific clause positions based on their expertise and the client's situation.
Transparent Notes
Advisory notes appear alongside each clause so the client understands the lawyer's reasoning.
Client Retains Control
The client makes all final decisions. Recommendations are guidance, not binding selections.
The Vetting Process
Lawyer Creates the Deal
Supervisor PortalThe lawyer accesses the supervisor portal (/supervise), creates a new deal, selects the contract type, jurisdiction, and language.
Lawyer Reviews Clauses
The lawyer reviews each negotiable clause and configures recommended positions:
Selects Recommended Options
Marks the clause option that best serves the client's interests.
Adds Advisory Notes
Writes plain-language explanations of why this option is recommended.
Lawyer Finalises Configuration
The lawyer reviews all recommendations, ensures advisory notes are complete, and locks the configuration for client review.
Lawyer Invites the Client
The lawyer sends an email invitation to the client. The client receives a magic link to join the pre-configured deal with all recommendations visible.
Client Experience
When the client joins a vetted deal, they see a curated negotiation environment:
Pre-populated Selections
Each clause shows the lawyer's recommended option already selected. The client can accept or change any recommendation.
Lawyer's Advisory Notes
For each clause, the client sees the lawyer's explanation of why a particular option is recommended.
Full Override Capability
The client has complete freedom to override any recommendation. The lawyer's selections are suggestions, not constraints. The final choice is always the client's.
